We are looking for caring and energetic Teacher Assistants to join our childcare team.
These individuals will contribute to a positive, nurturing environment that is safe, clean and organized for the children between the ages of 6 weeks and 6 years.
Teacher Assistants will also encourage children’s overall development through appropriate play-based activities and by working collaboratively with families.
This position is available at our location in Johnston.
Benefits and Compensation
This role is full-time and eligible for health benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, paid time off, and a 403B retirement account.
PTO is frontloaded upon hire and starts accruing immediately.
Full-time staff are eligible for education assistance after one year of employment, and tuition discounts to various schools that is available upon hire.
The starting pay rate for this position is $13/hour.
Schedule
40 hours per week
Monday-Friday
Work with the hours of operation of 7:00am-5:30pm on Monday-Thursday, and 7:00am-5:00pm on Friday.
What You’ll Do
Provide routine care for infants and/or children including diaper changing/assistance with personal cares, hygiene and hand washing, serving meals and snacks.
Maintain children's safety by providing constant supervision in compliance with staff/child ratio requirements and utilizing name to face attendance log.
Consistently assess and monitor children’s general health and report concerns to supervisor and family as appropriate.
Complete tasks to maintain a clean, organized and safe environment indoors and outdoors.
Maintain and support a structured environment and routine according to Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports strategies.
Provide exceptional customer service to families.
Documentation - Complete documentation accurately and according to established deadlines.
Arrive on time and attend assigned training sessions, staff meetings and annual staff development training.
What You’ll Need
Ability to pass a ChildServe physical examination at commencement of employment and thereafter as regulations require.
Ability to lift up to 35lbs, be mobile within the classroom and playground areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
Ability to become certified in First Aide, CPR, Mandatory Reporter, Standard Precautions and DHS Pre-Service Essential training within 90 days of hire.
Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
Experience providing care and supervision for children preferred.
