We are seeking an energetic person who would like to spend time teaching young children, ages one to three years old, through active engagement and positive interactions.
This teacher gets to follow individual schedules for children, monitor that their supplies are stocked, and help build their foundational skills.
Teaching
Plan and implement with both long- and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate curriculum and program philosophy.
Treat children with compassion, dignity, respect and guide them by:
Keeping rules simple and easy to understand
Talking with children- not at them
Setting a good example
Teaching children how to correct their misbehavior
Teaching children it is ok to make mistakes
Teaching children how to resolve conflict and how to apologize
Catching children being good and give praise to build their self-concept
Giving clear and simple choices
Maintain daily open communication with parents in a professional and effective manner.
Shows ability to lead the direction of the program and prioritize multiple tasks and meets deadlines as they arrive.
Willingness to support management, DHS and QRS with best practice standards in individual classroom and throughout the center.
Follows all Little Endeavors policies.
Keep all appropriate records such as attendance, daily sheets, emergency contacts, sunscreen forms, permission slips and incident reports.
Have plans prepared and be well organized for assistant teachers in the classroom when you are gone.
Be kind and fair to all children in the classroom without demeaning them, secluding them or embarrassing them.
Co-workers
Encourage assistant teachers to contribute to lesson planning.
Mentor assistants so they can step in as lead when you are gone.
Maintain communication with morning and afternoon staff.
