The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking qualified candidates for an Asset Manager position in the State Parks, Forests, and Preserves Bureau.

Infrastructure Program Management: You will develop, manage, and oversee all aspects of the State Parks, Forests, and Preserves Asset and Infrastructure Program.
This includes asset inventory assessments, maintenance management, capital planning, and infrastructure design guidelines.
Collaboration and Coordination: You will collaborate with agency management, bureau chiefs, district supervisors, and other stakeholders to address operational challenges, draft policies, and ensure effective resource allocation.
Signage and Accessibility: You will oversee the replacement of signage in parks and forests, ensuring compliance with ADA accessibility standards.
Additionally, you will analyze information related to asset infrastructure and develop policies to meet regulatory requirements.
Capital Budget Development: You will develop and manage the bureau's capital budget, coordinating with various stakeholders to prioritize projects and ensure timely and efficient utilization of resources.
Deferred Maintenance Inventory: You will collect and maintain data on deferred maintenance inventory, utilizing this information to inform planning and budgeting decisions.
Special Projects and Agreements: You will coordinate special projects as assigned and prepare agreements with private organizations and governmental agencies to execute capital objectives effectively.

Analyzes or interprets state and federal laws, rules, regulations, guidance and develops program policies and procedures to comply with existing and new requirements for park accessibility and ADA compliance.
Develops annual and 5-year capital plans in coordination with bureau chief, district supervisors, park planner, engineering and staff to prioritize projects based on strategic agency/bureau needs and available funding.
Works effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effectiveness of the program.
Communicates clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, technical information, regulatory requirements, department policies, procedures and guidance to public officials, industrial professionals, general public and others.
Adequately and appropriately, manage multiple projects and funding sources based on agency/bureau priorities.
Researches recreational trends and construction techniques and makes recommendations for improvements or changes to park development and asset management.
Develops, maintains and enhances asset management system using technology.
Travels across the state with some overnight stays.
Operates Windows based software, MS Office and associated modules, Google products, Survey 123, and any other web-based programs used by the Department/Bureau.
