Role Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Axe-pert (Throwing Coach and Safety Trainer).
This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety of our guests while providing them with an enjoyable and educational experience in the sport of axe throwing.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for safety, coaching, and have a mastery of axe-throwing techniques, or are willing to be taught.
(we will teach you these if you are new to the sport) Responsibilities: Safety First: * Implement and uphold strict safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the well-being of all guests participating in axe throwing activities.
* Conduct thorough safety briefings for guests, emphasizing proper technique, handling, and throwing of axes.
* Monitor and supervise axe throwing sessions to prevent potential hazards and unsafe behaviors.
Coaching and Instruction: * Provide personalized coaching and instruction to individuals and groups of varying skill levels, from beginners to advanced throwers.
* Demonstrate and teach proper axe throwing techniques, stances, and targeting strategies.
* Offer constructive feedback to participants to help them improve their skills and accuracy.
Mastery of the Sport: * Continuously enhance your own axe throwing skills and knowledge through training and practice.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and equipment advancements to provide guests with the best experience possible.
Ambassadorship: * Represent Smash Park with enthusiasm and professionalism, embodying the values and spirit of our brand.
* Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment, making guests feel comfortable and confident during their axe throwing sessions.
* Actively engage with guests, answering questions, sharing anecdotes, and creating memorable experiences.
Day-to-Day Operations: * Assist with the setup and preparation of axe throwing lanes and equipment before each session.
* Manage guest reservations, check-ins, and waivers to ensure a smooth and organized experience.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization in the axe throwing area, including equipment upkeep and storage.
* Take drink and food orders from guests when needed Qualifications: * Previous experience in axe throwing, coaching, or a related sport is preferred, but not required * Strong understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to effectively convey instructions and guidance to participants.
* Patient and approachable demeanor with the ability to work with individuals of all skill levels and backgrounds.
* Quick decision-making abilities and the capability to handle unexpected situations calmly.
* High level of integrity, professionalism, and a genuine passion for providing outstanding guest experiences.
Job Type: Part-time Pay: $17.
