Purpose:
The Senior Financial Analyst will provide support with capital management activities.
This includes partnering with their manager along with Finance, Risk, Investments and all businesses to understand capital requirements under base case and projections as well as stressed market conditions.
You will work with other team members to help identify strategies to support the effective deployment of capital in compliance with all relevant policies.
Accountabilities:
Assist with quarterly capital reporting and projection process (understanding inputs, drivers of results, perform variance analysis, and provide management reporting)
Assist with capital projection process (dividends, contributions, M&A transactions, Reinsurance, etc.
)
Partner with Risk and Finance to measure capital needs under business as usual and stress conditions; assist in the refinement of the ACRA financial projections.
Assess and analyze evolving and newly emerging regulatory and rating agency capital requirements and recommend actions where appropriate.
Provide insight to the company’s capital position and develop recommendations to the business.
Partner with Finance leaders on rating agency support, capital management transactions and other matters.
Qualifications and Experience:
BA/BS degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Math, Actuarial Science, OR equivalent experience.
Completion of CPA, CFA, MBA, or ASA/FSA highly desired.
Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in the insurance industry with an understanding of US NAIC RBC as well as rating agency capital models (S&P, A.
M.
Best).
Strong finance, accounting (US GAAP and Statutory), skills including strong balance sheet and income statement projection knowledge.
Strategic and analytical thinker with ability to focus on details and synthesize into actionable recommendations.
