We have an opening for a part-time Payroll Assistant to work on-site at our Johnston location.
The ideal candidate will have experience with timecard systems, training and supporting those using the systems, assistance with W-2s, and preparation of payroll related data.
Schedule
20-25 hours per week on-site at our Johnston, Iowa location
What You'll Do
Maintain timecard system including but not limited to creation of new supervisors and provides training and guidance for users.
Answer supervisor and staff questions regarding timecards and payroll processes.
Respond to staff questions regarding payroll including lost paychecks.
Serve as Human Resource team liaison and meets with them as scheduled.
Assist with preparation and distribution of W-2s.
Assist with the collection and verification of electronic W-2 approval forms.
Assist with the distribution and mailing of payroll checks and direct deposit statements.
Process payroll correction requests and processes the payroll correction run.
Submit pre-notes for direct deposits weekly.
Assist with the implementation of organizational policies and processes for administering the payroll function to ensure the highest possible compliance and efficiency.
Partner with others internally to ensure cross-function coordination.
Assist with development of policies and processes.
Provide data to assist with budgeting.
Identify trends in wage payments and reports findings and risks to supervisors.
Prepare payroll analysis for leaders.
Assist in the development of the Annual Wage Budget.
Provide effective service to employees and leaders regarding payroll questions and concerns to resolve issues.
Prepare and analyze payroll related data for Accounting leaders to assist with financials.
Assist with auditing to ensure compliance of pay practices by conducting Business Reviews.
Prepare related reports for the monthly financials.
What You'll Need
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
2 years of payroll experience required.
Certified Payroll Professional is preferred.
Strong customer service skills.
Computer skills including Microsoft Office, and ability to proficiently learn new software programs.
Ability to understand and communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
